Writer for Hire
For seven years Greg worked as a joke writer for various incarnations of the
Triple M Brisbane Breakfast show.
During this time he learnt how to write for different people's personalities,
how to produce under extreme deadline pressure and how to cheerfully rework
rejected material.
After being promoted to an on air role with 'The Cage' at Triple M Brisbane he
was chosen to be one of four finalists for the Best Station Produced Comedy
Segment gong at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards.
Greg wrote and voiced a campaign for Purina One pet food and is available
for copy writing work.
Outside of radio, Greg has also sold material to American stand up Rich Hall for
use in one of his two simultaneously running Edinburgh Fringe festival shows.
Rich was a Saturday Night Live cast member and a Simpsons writer who is the man
widely considered to be the inspiration for the character Moe the Bartender.
In the television arena Greg has written for the NRL footy show's character
Mahatma Cote and been asked to write and present pieces for the 7PM Project's
‘Metro Whip Around’ segment.
Greg wrote columns for Bean Scene magazine, which was quite a feat considering
he doesn't drink coffee.
Now that he is no longer absorbed by the demands of getting up at two in the
morning for a radio show he is working on his own projects, which he is willing
to put on hold if anyone wants him to write something for cash money.
Check out his blogs, stand up and radio material to get a sense of his diverse
and punchy writing style.
